Nigerian Internet Entrepreneurs meetup in Lagos

A few Nigerian Internet Entrepreneurs would be meeting to create a stronger community and discuss issues of mutual interest, this weekend. In the words of the organizers:

This is the first meet-up of Nigerian Internet Entrepreneurs. It is an avenue for Nigerians that are creating startups to come meet themselves and have some beers. We would be talking about our projects and getting feedback from one another. We are sure we can build the strongest startup community in Africa.

The event is being organized by Oo Nwoye of the-yet-to-be-launched lotaar.com, and a few other like-minded people.

Venue: Adrenaline Bar, Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Oniru. It is near Shoprite, opposite Oriental Hotel.
Time: 4pm to 8pm local time
Agenda:

  • Though this is going to be very informal, we hope discuss:
  • What Nigerian Internet Entrepreneurs is all about
  • Talk about our various projects
  • Possible participation at LeWeb
  • Having an incubator
  • Challenges we face as Internet  entrepreneurs in Nigeria

  1. Sounds very interesting! I would have loved to attend.

I’d be interested in the discussion, on topics such as:

1: The main challenges for Nigerian Internet Entrepreneurs (including lack of electricity, I’m sure… but perhaps also lack of venture capital… lack of incubation opportunities… etc.)

2: The various visions of growth, revenue generation, and long-term viability, for the different sites represented.

    Thanks for sharing – enjoy!

p.s. LeWeb looks interesting. In Paris this December, abi?
